The Lions Youth Camp has been developed over the years to provide facilities for youth groups to enjoy the outdoors and the fellowship that this brings. Our objective is to enable children of all ages to use the Camp at a cost that ensures that the largest number of children may participate regardless of financial means.
To this end the Camp is run as a non-profit enterprise and is financially supported in three ways: -by donations received from Lions Clubs and others -and by donated labour and materials in maintaining the Camp. These are provided by individual Lions and by some very generous sponsors. The Camp is located a few kilometers east of Cremona, Alberta on approx. 20 acres of woodland on the banks of Dog Pound Creek. It is easily found and accessible. The Camp operates year-round and is supported by the Lions Clubs of District 37-O of Lions International located in South Central Alberta. - A number of tent platforms are available and there are some areas without platforms available for those who wish to tent - 24 bunk bunkhouse, heated and wheelchair accessible - A telephone for emergency and local use is located in the building - Fresh drinking water that is fully treated is supplied from a well on the property - The main building includes a fully-equipped commercial kitchen with coolers and a lot of storage, complete with dishes, pans, cooking tools and cutlery for a large group - Nine fully insulated and electrically heated cabins (2 are wheelchair accessible) Bunks are furnished with mattresses, but campers must provide their own bedding - A modern heated bath room facility complete with showers and lots of hot water. Part of the washroom building is equipped for use by the handicapped and there is also a small first aid station - A commercial gas BBQ is available for rent - Volleyball court (grass) - Basketball court (asphalt) - Fire pit area complete with a supply of firewood - Cook shack adjacent to the fire pit complete with wood-fired stove � for those cooler evenings Note: The Youth Camp provides only basic camp facilities. It is up to the user group to provide all the supervisory staff for any activities to be undertaken.
